Rival Junk Removal · Lake Oswego & West Linn
Hard Work. Hired Local.
Clear the clutter. Support local students.
Rival Junk Removal provides junk removal, hauling, property cleanouts, and hands-on labor for homes and businesses across Lake Oswego and West Linn — from garages and estates to rental turnovers, move-outs, item breakdown and disassembly, donation coordination, recycling, and lawful disposal.
We were founded on a simple belief: communities get stronger when young people are trusted with real responsibility. Every Rival crew is made up of local high school students, college students, and recent graduates working in the same neighborhoods that shaped them.
Each job is a chance to work hard, solve problems, earn a neighbor's trust, and find out what they're capable of.

A note from the founders: Two Local Dads Passionate About Empowering our Youth
Patrick and Jeff started Rival not simply to haul away unwanted furniture or clean out garages, but to create a place where young people earn confidence by doing hard things, serving their neighbors, and becoming the kind of people others can count on.
Patrick spent more than twenty years as a Marine officer leading men and women who were often just out of high school. He saw firsthand what happens when someone trusts a young person with meaningful responsibility and holds them to a high standard.
Jeff grew up in Lake Oswego, where his father served as Athletic Director at Lake Oswego High School. Great coaches, mentors, and teachers shaped the way he approached work, leadership, and community. After building and running successful businesses for more than two decades, he returned home convinced that one of the best investments any community can make is in its young people.
As parents, neighbors, and members of this community, they know firsthand that grit is not built on a screen. It is built by showing up, taking responsibility, doing hard work, and seeing it through. That is how confidence is developed, whether it is on a playing field, in the military, or on a job site.
Rivalry done right makes people better. That is what they are building around.
The Give-Back
We started Rival because we believe local businesses should do more than provide a service. They should create opportunity, model responsibility, and give back to the communities that support them.
We put that commitment into action in two ways: donating a portion of net profits to local schools and providing hands-on help each month through Random Acts of Rival.
Net-Profit Give-Back
Each year, Rival will donate 10% of its net profits to schools in the communities we serve, beginning with the Lake Oswego Schools Foundation and the West Linn-Wilsonville School Foundation. In our first year, we're guaranteeing a minimum donation of $10,000, regardless of profit.
Random Acts of Rival
Every month, Rival provides a free haul for a neighbor facing a difficult stretch. They may have experienced a loss, be recovering from surgery, or simply have more than they can manage alone.
Neighbors can nominate someone, and our founders and student crews review the nominations privately and choose a recipient together. We share their story only with their permission.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does pricing work?
Pricing depends on the amount of stuff, the type of items, access, labor, disposal requirements, and job complexity. Send us photos and details, and we will provide an estimate before the job begins, but no quotes are final until Rival can assess on-site. In many cases, we may come estimate prior to the job. Anything you can break down, disassemble, or make easily accessible may save money.
Are you insured?
Yes. Rival is licensed and insured, and the founders are a phone call away on every job.
Do you only do junk hauling?
No. Rival also provides property and estate cleanouts, garage and storage cleanouts, rental turnovers, move-out services, light demolition, donation coordination, recycling, material delivery, property cleanup, and seasonal or unskilled labor support.
Do you work with landlords, property managers, and businesses?
Yes. Rival can help homeowners, landlords, property managers, real estate professionals, and local businesses with cleanouts, turnovers, item removal, light demolition, property cleanup, donation coordination, recycling, and lawful disposal of unwanted personal property.
Do I need to move items outside?
In many cases, no, but like any other hauling service there may be additional labor charges if items are not easily accessible from the front of the house or property. Our crew can remove items from garages, homes, offices, yards, storage areas, rentals, and commercial spaces. We will confirm access details when we quote the job.
Do you donate or recycle items?
When items are in usable condition, we make reasonable efforts to route them toward donation or recycling instead of disposal.
Are students working on every job?
Not always. Crew assignments vary based on school schedules, availability, and the needs of each job. Every crew is led by someone 18 or older, typically a college student or recent graduate who has been personally trained by Patrick and Jeff. Crew members must be at least 16 and work under the supervision of their crew lead.
Our long-term goal is to develop future crew leads from within, giving team members a path to take on more responsibility as they gain experience.
What areas do you serve?
We are launching in Lake Oswego and West Linn. For nearby areas, send us your location and we will let you know if we can help.
What items can't you take?
Some materials are restricted or require special handling. We cannot take radioactive, toxic, explosive, asbestos-containing, biological, nuclear, or bulk hazardous materials. Some small personal-use items may be acceptable with an additional handling fee. If you are unsure, send us a photo or description and we will let you know.
